Metal Etching Made Easy

Explore a variety of resists including image transfers onto metal, rubber stamping and other techniques in this comprehensive intro to etching metal pieces and beads. This low toxic process includes environmentally safe recipes for creating pickle to clean metal and neutralizing etching solutions. Class cost includes a booklet, etching solution, pens, metal discs and beads for samples. See the website description for a small list of supplies you need bring with to class. Class cost:  $98

Photographing Your Own Work

10 p.m. - 2 p.m., Bellevue Community College, Room C154

Digital technology makes it so easy to photograph artwork, jewelry, and 3D items yourself so what are the techniques and simple tips? Using your own digital camera learn what you need to know to create successful images. Instruction includes lighting techniques, photo composition, background materials and useful props to use for more professional results. Each student will take home a CD of their successes. Beginners are welcome! Students should bring their digital camera and small pieces to photograph. Class Cost: $98

Metal Etched Jewelry

9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m., Edmonds Community College, Monroe Hall, Rm. 110
2000 68th Ave. W., Lynwood, WA

   Impress yourself and others with the amazing earrings, necklace or bracelet you will make in this class. This program is metal etching simplified so anyone can do it and use it to make really fine jewelry pieces. Each student will take home a variety of professionally finished pieces, everything needed to continue etching at home as well as the instructor's booklet, "Metal Etching Made Easy". Students should bring an apron and wear old clothes.  Class cost: $126
